Stevan McAleer – MMC Professional Instructor
Stevan began racing karts as a kid growing up in Glasgow, Scotland. By 2002, he won every Karting Championship in the U.K. In 2005, Steven earned a full scholarship with Skip Barker where he took 2nd in their 2006 Regional Championships with 11 podiums over 14 races. When not racing, Steven continues to instruct both children and adults in karting and high-performance driving. In 2012, Steven is competing full-time in the professional racing series. “Playboy Cup”, driving an MX-5. In March and May, 2012, Steven took P1 at Sebring and Mazda Speedway respectively.
Eric Curran – MMC Professional Instructor
Eric races professionally in both the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, and the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In the Rolex series GT category, Eric drives the #31 Chevrolet Corvette C6 for Whelen Engineering/Marsh Racing with Boris Said as his co-driver. On the same weekends, Eric also drives for the Canadian-based CKS Autosport team in the Continental Tire series, sharing the #01 Chevrolet Camaro GS.R in the Grand Sports class with Lawson Aschenbach. At MMC, Eric also enjoys testing and developing a variety of race cars, racing go-karts, and coaching all levels of drivers.
Lawson Aschenbach – MMC Professional Instructor
Starting at the early age of 8, Lawson has won championships in some of the most prestigious series in North America. After a successful 2005, where he finished on the podium in his first professional race, he burst out onto the scene in 2006 winning the SPEED World Challenge GT Series in his rookie year. Since then, Lawson has taken championships in both Grand-Am and World Challenge. For 2012, he will be competing full seasons in both World Challenge and Grand-Am. In World Challenge, Lawson is driving a Porsche 911 GT3 in the GT class, and in Grand-Am, he is driving with Eric Curran in a GM-sponsored Chevrolet Camaro.
Carl Houman – Safety/Emergency Services Coordinator
Carl Houman is the Safety/Emergency Services Coordinator for MMC, Carl Houman is responsible for all on-site emergency response teams and vehicles. He is a 27-year fire service veteran and an emergency medical technician. Carl is the deputy chief and director of fire safety for the Monticello Fire Department and is a New York State- and nationally-certified fire inspector. He teaches hands-on training across the country for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, the Fire Department Instructors Conference and Firehouse Expo. Carl is also an advocate for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation for the State of New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering form Kennedy-Western University.
