Monticello Motor Club

On February 11-16, 2019, MMC will host a limited number of members and family for our third annual MMC Winter Driving Experience in Quebec, utilizing the latest Porsche sportscars.  Porsche and MMC will have exclusive use of Mecaglisse, an extraordinary driving facility, located about an hour northwest of Montreal, that features miles of ice circuits and skid pads. New for this winter, we’re running two programs designed and delivered by Porsche Sport Driving School: a four-day “ICE EXPERIENCE +” expert program for members who previously completed prior Camp4S or Ice Force programs, and a four half-day “Ice Intro” (formerly known as “CAMP4”) beginner program for MMC members or their guests, for which no experience is needed.

If all Ice Experience + seats are not filled by prior Camp4RS/Ice Force attendees, then MMC Members with track ratings of 4 or higher may be approved for Ice Experience + by Porsche Canada.

The Ice Experience + program is custom designed for MMC to include the entire range of Porsche ice-prepared vehicles (prior years limited Camp4RS and Ice Force to certain cars and tire stud sizes), more lapping that begins on Day 1, night-time lapping, and night-time time trial competitions.

[ FAQs ]

Where can I learn more about Camp4 program?

What is my damage liability?

$5,000 per occurrence for damage. Porsche reserves the right to suspend overly-aggressive drivers without refund.

How do we get there?

It’s a 6-hour drive for most members in the tri-state area. Once we fill the program, we’ll exchange member information among the group and coordinate carpools or other transportation. You can also fly to Montreal and then rent a car, but the total travel time makes it not worth it for most tri-state residents. Flying is optimal for MMC members living 7+ hours away.

As we did in prior years, we will arrange carpools leaving from the northern NJ and NY areas. There is no charge for joining a carpool.

How do I pay?

We will charge your credit card on file. No processing fees will be charged.

Will other groups be at Mecaglisse during our event?

No. This entire program is exclusive for MMC.

What if I want to cancel?

You may cancel at any time, and we will provide a full refund IF we can fill your seat. Based on the limited number of seats and early interest, we expect a waiting list, but this is not guaranteed. To ensure complete exclusivity, MMC had to pre-pay for the entire program, and we will not receive refunds from Porsche for unfilled seats, regardless of notice.

May I invite a non-member to drive?

Yes, but we respectfully request that your invited guest be a significant other. If driving seats are filled by non-member friends, then members who want to join the program will likely be excluded. If your non-member friend is anxious to join the group, we’re more than happy to discuss membership.

This sounds like a trip for couples. Will I feel like a third wheel if I come alone?

No. In prior years, groups were a mix of couples and individuals, and all had a great time.

Can my non-driving guest join us each day at Mecaglisse?

Yes. There is a clubhouse with food and beverages served throughout the day, and Internet service. However, other than when drivers are in the clubhouse for breaks and lunch, non-driving guests will mostly be alone in the clubhouse – but with excellent views of the cars around sections of the racetrack. Non-drivers are invited to join Ice Intro participants during their non-driving afternoon activities that will include adventures such as dog sledding and snowmobiling.

Are kids allowed?

Sorry, but this is a trip for members 21 and older.

If I fly into Montreal, how will I get to Estérel?

We anticipate that most members will drive to the resort. If you choose to fly, car service to the hotel is available, and we’ll be happy to provide you with information on the provider Porsche recommends. (This cost is not included in the package.) Past experience suggests that renting a car from the airport is a much more cost-effective option.
