The 2022 Teen Motorsports Camps are now underway at MMC. First up was the Intro to Motorsports Camp which will run for two sessions this season. A group of sixteen teenagers arrived at MMC for the first of the four camps. These teens joined us from as far away as France, Wyoming, Nevada, and Florida for five days of non-stop motorsports action. Intro to Driving offers campers basic driving skills before teaching them car control and skills to become a safer, more competent driver.
The teens, ages 13-17, checked in on Sunday afternoon where they were greeted by MMC instructors who fitted them in helmets, race suits and vehicles, allowing them to hit the ground running on Monday morning.
In the Intro session, campers, most with no driving experience, began their motorsports experience on the karting track to become familiar with operating pedals, braking, and steering before taking the karts onto a wet skid pad for some car control practice. On the main track, campers got behind the wheel of BMWs and MINIs for lead follow exercises and in-car instruction on a variety of track configurations. The campers completed several autocross exercises, as well, to hone their car control skills.
The Performance Driving camp came next which provides teens with a foundation in racing techniques, either for improving their high-performance driving skills or as a gateway towards competitive racing and leaves them with the skills required for solo track driving. Campers in this level got to experience MMC’s fleet vehicles on a variety of driving surfaces such as a wet and dry skid pad, karting track, cross kart courses and MMC’s main track.
Campers spend the evenings at The Kartrite Hotel and & Indoor Waterpark where they enjoy water rides, bowling, laser tag, arcades, great meals, and, of course, the camaraderie that comes along with the camp experience.
The final day of each camp ends with campers’ families gathering at MMC for a closing ceremony complete with trophies and awards.
We round out the 2022 camp sessions with the upcoming Performance Driving and Competition Camps which begin this Sunday.
Art in Motion returns to MMC on October 15 and 16 as a weekend-long driving event that highlights the Club, its fleet of high-performance BMWs and Porsches, and its 3.6 miles of race-grade asphalt.
As a member, you have the liberty of experiencing the Club and its famed road track whenever you wish, but here’s a great opportunity to show your friends and family all that your club has to offer.
Guests will have the opportunity to select their driving timeslot in advance. Each timeslot is 1.5 hours and gives them the opportunity to drive a vehicle from both BMW and Porsche on the Club’s North and South Courses. Aside from the on-track experience, we are offering additional driving experiences such as off-roading in the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo on our multi-surface Rally Cross Course and go-karting sessions on our dedicated karting track. Registration now open for this event.
Bring your friends and family to see the best of MMC at the most picturesque time of year!
The latest vehicle to be offered on MMC’s online classified page is one of the Club’s own Porsche GT4 Clubsports. This fully race-prepped vehicle has only 3,000 miles and is ready to hit the track.
This is one of several race-ready vehicles being offered on the Club’s website. Also available is a vintage Corvette Coupe and a Birel Go-Kart.
If you’d like more info on any vehicle, or are looking to sell one of your collection, please contact Kyle Ehrmann.
