In late October a group of members spent a couple of days at Watkins Glen International for the first of MMC’s three off-site member track events. “This was a great opportunity for our members to step outside of MMC and outside of their comfort zones, and try out another track,” said track director, Dennis Macchio.
The two-day event began with a track walk which not only familiarized the members with WGI, but allowed them to embrace the idea and value of the track walk. It gave members an up-close look at the track’s full circuit with 11 technical turns, and a chance to ask questions before getting behind the wheel. Over the course of the next couple of days, members were coached by Dennis, MMC instructors, and outside instructors who eased them through the process of learning a new track.
Trackside support and hospitality were provided by the MMC team throughout the event. Members, guests and staff joined for dinner at Seneca Lodge one evening. The event proved to be a great opportunity for social bonding among members and the team.
Give yourself a break from winter and head down to sunny Florida this coming March! MMC is planning more track events during the off-season in two locations in Florida. Not only is this a chance to escape the cold of winter, but it will be a great chance to warm up for the 2023 driving season at MMC!
MMC track director, Dennis Macchio will be available at both events to give you an inside view of these iconic tracks and to offer coaching tips at no cost. MMC Instructors will be available for these events, but members are also able to bring their own coaches.

They set out to feed their wanderlust and returned home with friendships and unforgettable memories.
In October, two groups of members joined us on the Viva Italia Tour, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime experience of Italy’s famed cities, quaint countryside and finest supercars. As if touring the country in a Ferrari or Lamborghini didn’t satisfy the automotive enthusiast enough, the groups stopped for a private tour of the Pagani factory and the Dallara factory where IndyCars are designed and manufactured.
This trip wasn’t all about cars and racing, however. Members and their guests enjoyed private tours of a balsamic acetaia and olive oil mill where they learned about the process of making these Italian classics and enjoyed samples of each. One group learned the art of pasta making before sitting down together to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Italy without a tour of Italian vineyards and wine tastings. Each of these experiences took place off the beaten path in small, family owned locations, giving our group and authentic Italian experience.
The journey between Rome and Monaco took members on the most scenic of routes through rolling hills, Tuscan valleys, and the sparkling coastlines between Genoa and Monaco. The tour also took them through olive groves and vineyards on the famed Chiantigiana roadway.
Time was left for relaxing in volcanic hot springs in San Casciano Dei Bagni, tours of the Vatican and Colosseum when in Rome.
MMC account executive, Amy Tilley, hosted each group and was excited to see the camaraderie and bonding that took place among members and their guests. So much so that one of the groups has already made plans to meet up for dinner in New York City.
