When Family And Passion Align
Mike Naclerio joined MMC in 2018. He had always been a car nut and becoming a Member was his gift to himself for years of hard work. In his first year as a Member, Mike remembers only making it to MMC four times and it killed him. He wanted to be there every weekend, but before being a Member of a motorsports club, he was a father and a husband. His kids were involved in extracurricular activities that had he and his wife sitting on the sidelines of a ball field rooting them on most weekends. Fast forward a couple of years and times have changed for Mike. He and his wife are just as busy running around after their kids, but now it’s the pits of MMC where Mike sits to root his son Jacob on. Lucky for Mike, his daughter Taylor is not far behind.
What line of work are you in?
Car business- I own Ford & Lincoln dealerships in Queens, and a Mazda dealership in Valley Stream.
What made you join MMC?
I had a connection through Member Lewis L. He invited myself and my partner to the track for the day. Later on, Lewis referred Ari to me when he was interested in a vehicle, so I got to know more about the Club through him. A year later, we brought a group of 8 reps from Ford up to MMC for a Taste of The Track. I was in love from that day on.
You mentioned that when you first joined you didn’t get to the track nearly as much as you wanted. In 2020, we saw you at MMC quite a bit. What changed?
My son is involved now and it’s terrific. Last year, Jacob, took part in the Teen Motorsports Camps and then did the Varsity Racing. He’s involved with Varsity again this spring.
What’s your favorite part of being a Member of the Club?
I’ve had such a great experience since the first day I was there. That day, Paul Queally put me right seat with him and he raced around the track with a couple other guys!
I also really enjoy the people. The Members are down to earth. I love sitting at lunch meeting new people and getting to know people from all walks of life. Also, it’s fun getting to know more Members through our kids and watching the kids compete together. Each parent is so proud of their kid, no matter what place they’re in on the track. We’re all just excited to be there watching them and knowing they’re all safe.
Have you had a friendly father/son battles on the track?
Funny you should ask. I just put my order in for a 2nd Miata so we can battle it out. We’ve battled in go karts for years. He was certified so he could drive the 9hp karts at Grand Prix, so that was our weekend fun for years. Watch out, Jacob, I’m coming for you!
Do you think your daughter will get involved at MMC?
My daughter Taylor is looking forward to hitting the karting track this season and attending Teen Camp once she’s old enough. She is even more competitive than my son, so it should be fun to watch.
Have you competed at all at MMC?
I took the 3-Day Racing School, but haven’t raced yet. My first race will be this year and I’m really looking forward to it.
What was your first job?
I worked in a hospital. I thought I wanted to be a doctor so at 15 my mom got me a job wheeling patients from their rooms to x-ray. I saw a lot of things that made me rethink that decision.
What was your first car?
A 70 Chevelle SS396.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport has just arrived at MMC and will be available for Members to rent in early May. This Clubsport boasts a 7-speed PDK gearbox, aluminum six-cylinder rear mounted twin-turbo engine, and reaches 700hp at 7000rpm.
The daily rental fee of $15,000, or 22 Fleet Access Points, includes trackside support, a GT2 RS pro instructor, and insurance. Limited to Red Group drivers, and prior approval is needed.
To check eligibility and availability, please contact Concierge.
For those of you who have been to MMC already this season, you may have noticed a simpler, more streamlined registration process from pre-registration emails to contactless check-in when you arrive at MMC.
Once a reservation is made, you’ll receive a pre-registration email 48 hours before your arrival. It is important that you pre-register so that you can place your lunch order and sign any needed paperwork in advance.
In the pre-registration email, you’ll click the link for the Pre-Event Check-In. Once in, be sure to click “Check In” in the top right corner so that you can be taken to the form.
Several hours before the start of your visit, we’ll send you a QR code which can be used to check you in for the day with a simple scan.
Also, we’d like to remind you that all guests need to be registered in advance through Member Services.
All of these steps help the MMC team to be more prepared for you and your guests which ultimately leads to a smoother, more enjoyable visit for all of you. We appreciate your assistance with this.
Please note: We now include breakfast, lunch, self-serve bar, and end of the day bicycle reservations in one inclusive charge per guest.
We’ve created a comprehensive list of all fees associated with rentals, experiences, and services provided by MMC. This document should help when planning a day at MMC for you and your guests, and assist you with questions you might have regarding daily invoices.
On June 28th, professional race car drivers Aurora Straus and Christina Nielsen will be co-hosting a women’s-only track day at Monticello Motor Club!
