Ionel Porumb joined MMC in 2021 as the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
Since 2017, Ionel has served as the Assistant GM and Beach Club Manager at Woodway Country Club, an exclusive golf club in Darien, CT that features multiple restaurants, a beach club, tennis house, pool facilities, and bowling. He supervises a staff of 100 year-round employees and 250 in-season staff.

Ionel previously worked for a decade at Mar-A-Lago and Trump International in multiple roles, working his way up from server and bartender to manager. He completed his undergraduate education in Romania at Alexandru Borza College & University, earned a bachelor’s degree from Monroe College, and is currently completing an executive GM program through Cornell University’s renowned hospitality graduate program.

Ionel was born in Transilvania, Cluj-Napoca, Romania where he grew up with two siblings. He and his wife currently live in Harriman, NY.

In his spare time, he enjoys cars, racing, boxing and golf.
