It was an amazing last day of Competition Teen Race Camp. Taylor, Ben and Jason had a great time with our campers and were so impressed with how well they paid attention and were always ready to get in the cars and go! In the morning, campers worked on counter attacks, how to deal with a racer who is driving a defensive line, qualifying strategies and starts. The day concluded with a 6 lap race which everyone did a great job and should be proud of their progress during the camp. Congratulations to Jack the winner and Kinsley who put up a good fight to come in second!

We were so happy to see many of our campers returning from our Performance Driving session. The campers all got along nicely, were respectful to each other and all of our team members at MMC which was greatly appreciated and made it that much harder to see everyone leave yesterday afternoon.
Good luck in school this fall and we so hope to see many of you at the track for some private instruction to get quality seat time and be sure to get some solo driving in.

Hello and good evening!
The Competition campers are making great progress. They all have great attitudes and are so willing to learn! Today they worked on over taking which was really fun(words of the campers), off-line entries and passing drills. They did a side by side passing drill with the instructors in the PDK’s on the South Course and found it to be a great exercise.
The campers enjoyed a Pasta Bar dinner in our dining room with their favorite desserts soft serve ice cream and cookies while watching Cars 2 on our large Media Screen. We all headed over to the hotel around 6 pm and everyone got settled in their rooms for a few minutes then it was off to the outside courtyard to play frisbee, soccer or make smores. A couple campers are finishing up in the arcade trying to earn more tickets for prizes.
Curfew is a little earlier tonight so everyone can make sure they are all packed up and ready to bring everything with them when we head to the track tomorrow morning. The chaperones, Ross, Suzanne and I will be sure to do walk throughs in their rooms to make sure nothing is left behind!
Hard to believe tomorrow is their last day, the time has flown by quickly.
Please be sure to arrive tomorrow at the clubhouse at 3:00 pm so you are able to join in our awards ceremony which will begin promptly at 3:15 in the dinning room.

Good evening!
It was another beautiful day at the Monticello Motor Club. Our Competition Teen Race Campers had another busy day. The campers did a great job today! The classroom and driving exercises focused on breaking, managing ABS, introducing threshold breaking and vehicle dynamics. The group drove by themselves in PDKs on the South Course with confidence and towards the end of the day had picked up more speed.
The group headed back to the hotel around 4:30, some campers relaxed, took a shower or headed to the water park before dinner. We all met for Dinner at Harvey Wallbanger’s which was a great time for everyone to mingle. After dinner they all made their way over to cash in their coupon for some sweets or ice cream at POP’s in the hotel. All happy, some campers played games in the arcade before turning in for their curfew at 10:00 pm.
Hard to believe tomorrow is day three!

Good evening. The Competition Campers did a wonderful job today. “They were solid from start to finish” per the words of our lead instructor Taylor Handwerk. The group worked on Basic line and Point By Passing on the South Course in the PDK’s on their own.
Campers headed to the hotel to enjoy the water park and then a group dinner at 6:00 pm. Bowling and the arcade is on the agenda for this evening.
Day 2 will be another busy day for the group so we are giving them all an extra 10 minutes of shut eye before they head over to the track tomorrow.

Good morning!
It was a great afternoon kick-off for our Competition Teen Race Camp. Our lead instructor Taylor Handwerk and pro-instructors Ben Haymann and Jason Lare will be working diligently with your campers out on the track for the Teen Race Camp Competition session.
A big welcome to our new camper Jack Wilson and our returning campers from last weeks Performance Driving Camp; Alexandra McKoy, Ashlee Pathoumphanh, Kinsley West and Lincoln Day.
The campers took sometime to get to know their instructors and each other during their orientation. Taylor took some time to discuss what they will be working on during the camp.
The campers enjoyed a Taco Bar Dinner at the Club House Dinning room with soft service ice cream and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. After dinner we took advantage of our club house lounge and had popcorn and watched the movie Cars on our big Cinema screen. The group headed over to the Kartrite Hotel in 4 shuttle vehicles. Campers were given their room assignments and got settled quickly. Once settled they all headed out with the CIT’s and chaperones to check out the arcade located in the hotel for a bit before heading to their rooms for the first nights 10:00 pm. Curfew.
Today is a busy day with classroom discussions and driving on the south course.
