Good morning! Hard to believe the campers last day of Teen Race Camp has past! The campers all did a great job and improved tremendously over the past 4 1/2 days. Their car control skills in the MINIs and go karts in wet and dry road conditions had greatly improved. These skills were also tested in the Cross Karts on the off-road course.
Stuart and Bryan kept everyone busy on the last day. In the morning the campers were separated into 3 groups that alternated between karting and driving the Miata’s on the North Course. Campers had an opportunity to test their ability with a manual transmission. The focus with the Miata’s was on getting going from a stop and getting comfortable changing gears while on track. It was a struggle for most especially while navigating the track. In the afternoon we had everyone head over to our off-road course to run in the Cross Karts, which everyone loved.
At the end of the day campers met with their parents in the dining room for our Teen Race Camp closing ceremony where Stuart and Bryan presented the campers their completion certificates and awards earned during the days competitions and throughout the camp experience.

Hello and good evening!
Our Intro to Motor Sports Campers spent time on the skip pad doing team building and specific car control exercises today. First a relay race with 2 person teams in the MINI’s in addition to a Rat Race. The group also had an opportunity to spend time in the BMW’s practicing their drifting skills in the rain.
The campers enjoyed a Pasta Bar dinner in our dining room with their favorite desserts soft serve ice cream and cookies while watching Cars 2 on our large Media Screen. We all headed over to the hotel around 6 pm and everyone got settled in their rooms for a few minutes then it was off to the outside courtyard to play frisbee, soccer or make smores. A couple campers are finishing up in the arcade trying to earn more tickets for prizes.
Curfew is a little earlier tonight so everyone can make sure they are all packed up and ready to bring everything with them when we head to the track tomorrow morning. The chaperones, Ross, Suzanne and I will be sure to do walk throughs in their rooms to make sure nothing is left behind!
Hard to believe tomorrow is their last day, the time has flown by quickly.
Please be sure to arrive tomorrow at the clubhouse at 3:00 pm so you are able to join in our awards ceremony which will begin promptly at 3:15 in the dinning room.
Enjoy your evening and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Good evening!
It was another beautiful day at the Monticello Motor Club. Our Intro to Motor Sports Campers had another busy day. The group did Auto Cross in the MINI’s, Go Carts on the Skid pad with dry and wet road conditions, Gauntlet on the North Course and right seat in the MINI’s and BMW 340i’s also on the North Course. The focus on today’s exercises was car control and car placement with the goal to get each camper to drive safely on their own.
The group headed back to the hotel around 4:30, some campers relaxed, took a shower or headed to the water park before dinner. We all met for Dinner at Harvey Wallbanger’s which was a great time for everyone to mingle. After dinner they all made their way over to cash in their coupon for some sweets or ice cream at POP’s in the hotel. All happy, some children went to play laser tag, play pool or games in the arcade before turning in for their curfew at 10:00 pm.
Hard to believe tomorrow is day three!

Good evening. The Intro To Motor Sports campers had a busy day in the morning between go karting at the karting track and driving the MINI’s on the North Course. While at the karting track the group focused on spatial awareness, breaking and learning the flags. Campers on the North Course did lead follow and right seat in the MINI’s. In the afternoon all the campers spent their time at the karting track, two person teams were set up, a 10-minute qualifying session was done to get teams set up for positioning in a 30-minute race. The focus of the race was to utilize the skills they learned in the morning session and to be safe. The race went well with an understanding that campers still need to focus on their flag knowledge.
Campers headed to the hotel to enjoy the water park and then a group dinner at 6:00 pm. Bowling and the arcade is on the agenda for this evening.
Day 2 will be another busy day for the group so we are giving them all an extra 10 minutes of shut eye before they head over to the track tomorrow.

Good morning!
It was a great afternoon kick-off for our Intro To Motor Sports Teen Race Camp. Welcome to our Counselors in Training team Bridjet Duffy, Colin Duffy and Massimo Risi who will be assisting our Lead Instructors.
A big welcome to our campers; Addison McNear , Alexander Tsitiridis, Harrison Sharples, Jack Eckerson, Justin Lake, Kyler Horowitz, Mitchell Janes, Olivia Wilson, Prem Doshi, Robert Weiswasser and Ved Daga.
It was nice to finally meet many of the parents that I have gotten to know through emails and phone calls in preparation for the first day of camp.
The campers were fitted for Helmets, Race Suits and Vehicles so they will be able to hit the ground running this morning. Once all the campers loaded their suit cases in our hotel shuttle vehicles they were given a golf cart tour of the Monticello Motor Club by our pro instructors.
The campers enjoyed a Taco Bar Dinner at the Club House Dinning room with soft service ice cream and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. After dinner we took advantage of our club house lounge and had popcorn and watched the movie Cars on our big Cinema screen. The group headed over to the Kartrite Hotel in 4 shuttle vehicles. Campers were given their room assignments and got settled quickly. Once settled they all headed out with the CIT’s and chaperones to check out the arcade located in the hotel for a bit before heading to their rooms for the first nights 10:00 pm. Curfew.
Today is a busy day at the Karting Track and Lead Follow on the North Course.
Have a great day and be on the lookout for today’s recap of your campers first full day at the Monticello Motor Club Track this evening.
