It was a fabulous last day of the Teen Race Camp – Performance Driving! It is amazing how fast 4 1/2 days go by. The group started their morning driving the PDK’s and BMW 340i’s full course lead follow and then moved to right seat instruction. Lunch snuck up quickly and all ate very well. A few campers put in a quick cat nap in our lounge area before heading over to the off-road course for Cross Karting until 3:00 pm. At the end of the day campers met with their parents in the dining room for our Teen Race Camp closing ceremony where Stuart and Bryan presented the campers their completion certificates and awards earned during their camp experience.

We were so happy to see many of our campers returning from our first session and a few from our camp last summer. The campers all got along nicely and as we mentioned in our awards ceremony they all were a pleasure to have.
Good luck in school to those campers we will not see in next session but we hope to see in next summer’s Competition camp.

Good evening!
The campers had a great day today! The group started out driving PDK’s on full course with lead/follow and then with instructors in the right seat. All did a wonderful job. After lunch, the campers headed to the skid pad to do an Auto cross in the SODI karts, driving a totally different course than the other day. The course conditions started dry then transitioned to wet. The group ended their day with wet Mock Races in the SODI Karts. Bryan and Stuart have been very pleased with the campers progress over the past few days.
Pasta bar for dinner with watermelon slices were a hit! Let’s not forget the soft serve ice cream and cookies are always available.
The campers headed back to the hotel for a low key evening and are looking forward to their last full day of Performance Driving.
Have a wonderful evening and we look forward to seeing everyone for our closing ceremony at 3:15 tomorrow (Thursday).

Happy Tuesday to you all! The campers had a busy day at auto cross on the skid pad , open lapping on the North Course and karting at the Karting Track in the afternoon. Bryan and Stuart saw a lot of improvement at the auto cross along with the open lapping on the North Course. The karting drills consisted of drifting and kart control with plastic tires which we saw a lot of spinning in the beginning but with time we saw huge improvement. The campers broke up into teams and did a 30-minute karting endurance race on the reverse course which is essentially a new track for them and with faster speeds. A job well done!
The campers are finishing off their evening with an early dinner at Harvey Wallbanger’s at the Kartrite hotel and then there will be a bonfire with outdoor games and sparklers.

Good evening! The campers day was spent on the off road course in the Cross Karts. Everyone started with apprehension and as the day progressed their driving skills and kart maneuvers improved greatly. It was like night and day. All campers had an opportunity to drive the Porsche Cross Turismo vehicles on the off road course before ending their day at the track. All headed to the Kartrite to cool themselves off at the Water Park before they all make there way to the Eat, Eat, Eat, etc.. buffet for dinner in the hotel.

Welcome to our CIT’s Brian Kaminskey, Bridjet Duffy and Massimo Risi who will be assisting our Lead Instructors and our Performance Driving Teen Race Campers: Alexandra McKoy, Ashlee Pathoumphanh, Colin Duffy, Jack Raphael, Jack Tabery, Kinsley West, Kyle Douglas, Lincoln Day and Samantha Brown.
Bryan Hedian and his team of instructors made sure the campers were set with their Helmets, Hans, Race suits and were fitted for the PDKs and BMW 340i vehicles. Campers went through a question-and-answer session with the instructors about what skills they would like to work on, what vehicles they like and what was their favorite event/exercise from past race camps.
All the campers loaded their suitcases into the Vans and headed to the Club House for a Taco Bar dinner with soft serve ice cream and cookies for dessert. Then all were off to Bethel Woods with Molly and Ari Straus to see Foreigner in concert, all had a great time. Thank you, Ari and Molly, for making this happen! The group then headed over to the Kartrite where everyone got settled in their rooms and prepared for their first full day with a quiet evening.
Today is a busy day at Cross Karting at the off- road course.
Have a great day and be on the lookout tonight for today’s recap of your campers first full day at the Monticello Motor Club Track.
